About SEMANOOR and our Privacy Policy
SEMANOOR Ltd. (“SEMANOOR”, “Semanoor App”, “App”, “Service”, “we”, “our” or “us” or other similar pronouns) takes your privacy matters very seriously. This privacy policy (“Policy”) explains how personally identifiable information is collected, used and disclosed by us, with respect to your access and use of SEMANOOR’s online Service located at Semanoor App, (the “Service”) so you can make an informed decision about using the Service.
Consent. By using the Service, you are accepting the policies and practices described in this Policy, as well as any amended Terms of the policy. Each time you use the Service, you agree and expressly consent to our collection, use and disclosure of the information that you provide as described in this Policy.
Modifications and updating the Policy. We reserve the right to change the provisions of this Policy at any time. We will alert you that changes have been made by indicating on this Policy the date it was last updated. If we make any material changes we will notify you by email (sent to the e-mail address specified in your account) or by means of a notice on our App or Site,(http://www.semanoor.com.sa) prior to the change becoming effective. We encourage you to carefully read and review this Policy from time-to-time to make sure that you understand how any personally identifiable information (you provide to us or collected about you) will be used.
Definitions. For the purpose of this Policy, the terminologies we use in this Policy shall has the following meaning:
"Personal Information" means information about you that is personally identifiable, like your name, address, e-mail address, billing information, or phone number, as well as other non-public information that is associated with this personal information. "Anonymous Information" means information that is not personally identifiable or linked to your Personal Information such as aggregated information, general demographic information and IP addresses, which does not necessarily enable identification of individual persons.In conjunction with the Terms of Service. Your use of the Service and any information you provide on our Service are subject to the terms of this Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into and subject to our Terms of Service. Any capitalized terms used but not defined within this Privacy Policy have the meaning given to them in our Terms of Service.
Collection and Use of Information
For the purpose of collecting information from users of Semanoor App, and based on our Privacy policy, users are required to use our App through the use of their Gmail account to be linked and therefore be able to benefit from our service.
When you install the Semanoor App from any store application, you will be asked to sign up. Pursuant to the Terms of Service, we are required to enable you to register, sign up, through or otherwise grant access to an integrated service (what we call an “Integrated Service”), by using your Google Gmail account, Semanoor may also collect Personal Information that is already associated with your Integrated Service account. Such information may include personal information, such as your name, email address, date of birth, social network data and performance related data that can be used to identify you. When using our App, we will collect information such as device type, operating system type and version. Personal and demographic information may also be collected if you provide such information in connection with posting data, providing access to your online groups and other activities in connection with the Service. We do not ask you for, access or track any location-based information from your mobile device at any time while downloading or using our Service (Semanoor App). You may also have the option of sharing additional information with Semanoor through an Integrated Service. If you choose to provide such information, during registration or otherwise, you are giving Semanoor the permission to use, share, and store it in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.
We make available certain features on our Service that allow other Users to provide us with information about you. This information may include Personal Information. Generally, this occurs when parents or teachers (“Coach” users) provide information relating to a Child User. For example, a Coach may register an account and add or communicate child/children and provide us with certain information, such as the Child’s Username and other Personal Information.
We may collect and use information about your location (such as your country) to provide you with tailored educational experiences for your region, but we don’t collect the precise geolocation of you or your device. You may be able to change the settings on your mobile device or any other devices to prevent it from providing us with any location information.
We partner with a third-party ad network to display advertising within Semanoor App. Our ad network partner uses Web beacons and log files to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on our App.
Semanoor uses the information you provide or that we collect to enhance our relationship with you and to operate, maintain, enhance, and provide all of the features and services found on our Service. For instance, we can recommend the most appropriate content for you on your next visit, based on your recent activity, so if you have given us consent, we may use your Personal Information to provide you with information about Semanoor’s features, services and other offerings that may be of interest to you. Under certain circumstances and if we obtain your consent (for example, if you submit a testimonial and agree to make it public), we may post your Personal Information on our Site.
Semanoor uses all of the information that you provide or that we collect from Users to understand and analyze the usage trends, educational activities, learning behaviors, and preferences of our Users, to improve the way the Service work and look, and to create new features and functionality. In addition to other purposes of use such, but not limited, as the following:
to process and complete any transactions in connection with the Service (Semanoor App); to request feedback and to otherwise contact you about your use of the Service (Semanoor App). to respond to your emails, questions, comments, requests, and complaints, and to provide customer service. to monitor and analyze Service (Semanoor App) usage and trends. to personalize and improve the Service or Apps, and our users’ experiences with the Service (Semanoor App) such as providing content or features that match interests, and to increase the Service’s (Semanoor App) functionality and user friendliness. to send you confirmations, updates, security alerts, additional information about our products and services and support and administrative messages, and otherwise facilitate your use of, and our administration and operation of, the Service (Semanoor App). When sending marketing information about our services or products, we will only use your email address used during registration; we will not use other email addresses you may have provided to us, for instance in a feedback form, to send marketing emails. to notify you about important changes to the Service (Semanoor App).Our ad network partner uses Web beacons and log files to collect non-personally identifiable information about your activities on our App to provide you targeted advertising based upon your interests.
Semanoor’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy , including the Limited Use requirements. Semanoor app limits the use of data to provide or improve user-facing features. All other uses of the data are prohibited; These prohibitions apply to the raw data obtained from Restricted Scopes and data aggregated, anonymized, or derived from them. We ensure that our employees, agents, contractors, and successors comply with this Google API Services: User Data Policy.
Unless we receive a deletion request, we will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as is reasonably useful for operational purposes.
We may automatically collect certain information through the use of “cookies” when you use the Service. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive at the request of a website or application. Among other things, cookies help us to improve the Service and your experience. If we link cookies to any personally identifiable information, we will treat this information as personally identifiable information. If you wish to block, erase, or be warned of cookies, please refer to your device browser manufacturer to learn about these functions. However, if you choose to remove or reject cookies, this could affect certain features or services made available via the Service.
We may use Web beacons or similar technology on the Service (App). We do not tie the information gathered by clear gifs to our customers’ personally identifiable information. Web beacons are small, invisible graphic images that may be used on the Service or in emails relating to the Service to collect certain information and monitor user activity on the Service, such as to count visits, understand usage effectiveness and to tell if an email has been opened and acted upon. Such technologies are used to collect aggregate statistics related to usage of the Service and do not collect personally identifiable information.
Any or all of these activities with regard to Service usage information may be performed on our behalf by our service providers, including, for example, our analytics vendor(s), such as Google Analytics, and our e-mail management partner(s). The use of cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies by third-party service providers is not covered by our privacy statement, as Semanoor does not participate in these data transmissions. We do not have access or control over these cookies. And we will, wherever possible, contractually obligate our third-party service providers to abide by the terms of this Privacy Policy.
How we share or transfer data
Semanoor takes great care to protect the information you provide us. We do not rent, sell, or share any information about our users with any third parties, except as specifically described herein. We also take great measures to restrict any collection or disclosure of Personal Information from children less than 13 years of age. We may disclose your Personal Information if we believe such action is necessary to:
1. Comply with the law, or legal process served on us.
2. Protect and defend our rights or property (including the enforcement of our agreements); or
3. Act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our Service or members of the public. Further, we may disclose your Information you provide for the following purposes:
We provide certain features that may allow you to share information with other Users. For example, you may choose to populate your profile with your name, short biography, and location. (like the Export feature in the app). As with most online services, once you make your Personal Information available to others in any of these ways, it may be collected and used by the recipients without restriction.
Some of our Users choose to connect their App account with social networks or integrated services. This functionality is entirely optional. If you have explicitly agreed that we may do so, Semanoor may disclose your Personal Information through a social network or similar service (Google Gmail). To control the information that you share, you have the option of modifying your App or social network settings or disconnecting your social network account from your App account.
In certain instances, Semanoor may work with business partners to improve our services or offerings. We may disclose automatically collected and other aggregate non-Personal Information to authorized business partners to conduct research on online education or assist in understanding the usage, viewing, and demographic patterns for certain programs, content, services, promotions, and/or functionality on our Service.
In the event that Semanoor is acquired by or merged with a third-party entity, we may transfer or assign the information that we have collected from Users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control.
Semanoor’s employees, agents and contractors must have a legitimate business reason to access Personal Information you provide to us. We may share your Personal Information with third-party service providers, including outside contractors or agents who help us manage our information activities, but they may only use your Personal Information to provide us with a specific service and not for any other purpose. Where feasible, Semanoor will require our third-party service providers to comply with this Privacy Notice.
Notice. We may disclose information about you if we determine that for national security, law enforcement, or other issues of public importance that disclosure of information is necessary.
Limitation of liability. We are not responsible for the actions of Service Providers or other third-parties, nor are we responsible for any additional information you provide directly to any other users or third- parties, and we encourage you to become familiar with third-party privacy practices before disclosing information directly to any such third-parties. Nothing herein restricts the sharing of aggregated or anonymized information, which may be shared with third parties without your consent. (This Term apply to you, in all cases, while you are using our Service, including but not limited, while using the built-in search engine via the App).
Child Users (Children’s Privacy)
Protecting the privacy of young children is especially important to Semanoor. Semanoor is not intended for or designed to attract anyone under the age of 13 and we do not intentionally or knowingly collect Personal Information on our Service from anyone under the age of 13 (or older in some jurisdictions). If Semanoor learns that Personal Information of a Child user has been collected on without parental consent, then we will take appropriate steps to delete this information. If you are a parent or guardian (“Parent”) and discover that your child under the age of 13 has an account or profile with our App without your consent, please alert Semanoor at [email protected] and request that we delete that child’s personal information from our systems. We encourage parents to be involved in the online activities of their children to ensure that no information is collected from a child without parental permission.
Alternatively, your child can be registered to use the Service through his or her school, or through an integration with the Service that is supported by the child’s school, or by teachers, tutors and other similar adults who assist in the educational process (“Coaches”) who have taken steps to obtain parental consent. Parents always have the option to delete their Child User’s account.
Semanoor does not attempt to restrict a Child User’s access to certain features that could result in disclosure of Personal Information by the Child User.
As a Parent, you can choose to share information about your child as you deem appropriate. Semanoor won’t share Personal Information about your child or his/her progress with anyone other than you, your child and any permitted Coaches, unless we receive your permission (or as otherwise noted in this Privacy Policy). To refuse future collection or use of your child’s Personal Information, you can delete your Child User’s account or contact us at [email protected] .
Security
Semanoor takes reasonable measures and steps to protect Personal Information from misuse, loss and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. However, we cannot guarantee that Personal Information will not be subject to unauthorized access, where no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards in place to protect Personal Information. Personal Information is stored on our servers and protected by secured networks to which access is limited to a few authorized employees and personnel. To assist with the protection of personally identifiable information, you must keep your password confidential and not disclose it to any other person. You are responsible for all uses of the Service (Semanoor App) by any person using your password. Please advise us immediately if you believe your password has been misused. If we learn of a data security incident that compromises or appears to compromise your Personal Information, then we will attempt to notify you electronically so that you can take appropriate protective steps. We may also post a notice on our Site if a data security incident occurs.
Data integrity
Semanoor only uses Personal Information as needed for the purposes for which it was collected or where you have consented to our use of Personal Information relating to you. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the Personal Information we store, and use is correct, accurate, complete, and up-to-date. If you discover that Personal Information or other data pertaining to you is inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date, please update your account information or contact us as outlined below.
International Users
Our Service is operated and managed on servers located within the (USA). If you choose to use our Service from the USA, the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that differ from USA, then you acknowledge and agree that you are transferring your Personal Information outside of those regions to the USA and that, by providing your Personal Information on the Service, you consent to that transfer.
